  • Try working in another app that uses the internet, such as Mail, to see if your Mac is connected to the internet.

Safari crashes randomly, meaning that it sometimes is running in the beackground and I am not doing anything with it. It seems that this problem only exists since I have done the following changes: I updated the Adobe Flash Player and I downloaded and installed Minecraft for Mac (I did not play it, since I forgot it was not for free ^^).

OS X :: Safari And Firefox Crashing After Clean Reinstall Of Snow Leopard

Nov 26, 2009

I loved the speed improvements Snow Leopard gave to my computer, but I knew that I would have to do a clean install sooner or later. Now, Safari and Firefox are crashing frequently (multiple times a day!) and everything is slowing down again. I'm hoping a reinstall of the operating system will fix that. However, I used up all 5 installs on my Family Pack. Can I reinstall Snow Leopard with that disc, even though all 5 installs have been used? Do I need to buy another copy? Can the Genius Bar do the clean reinstall for me while my computer is there for other repairs?

MacBook :: Safari Crashes Continuously?

May 27, 2012

My macbook, version 10.5.8, started crashing today. There was an update for Adobe Flash Update that popped up earlier today (I think it wanted to install a debugger), I X'd it out because I was doing something else (bad mistake), and now Safari crashes continuously every time I log in. I've tried to download things to my laptop to fix the problem, but Safari crashes before the download can even get halfway through. I've even tried to find the flash update for earlier, but either I can't find it or Safari doesn't stay open long enough for the update to download. The strange thing is, this is only happening on one account on my laptop– the one where the Adobe Flash Update popped up on. The other account on my laptop has Safari working fine (but it's not the account I want to use).

MacBook :: Recent Safari Crashes (All Software Up To Date)

Nov 3, 2009

I've had my macbook since April, and I love it. I have had very minimal problems and it's done me well. But, today while watching a flash video(Megavideo) on safari, it crashed. I got the beachball and had to force quit. I thought, oh no big deal but then i went back and reopened safari and it happened again, then again when i went to search for something. I initially thought it had to do with Flash Player, but then it happened with no video involved.

MacBook Pro :: New Logic Board - Format And Reinstall Leopard?

Aug 3, 2009

So I got the black screen of death on my 2.2 santa rosa macbook pro and Apple changed the logic board for free because of a known Nvidia 8600 Gt problem. The thing is now leopard doesn't run as smooth as it did before the incident. I've repaired the disk permissions, and it got a little better, but still.. it doesn't feel like it was. Is there anything else I could do? Do you recommend formatting and resintalling Leopard?

MacBook :: Cloning A Hard Disk Versus A Complete Reinstall Of Leopard

May 29, 2009

I have a white macbook which I purchased in 2007 ( it is the version that only goes to 2MB of Ram total). In anycase I have a Hard Drive that i want switch into it. The question I have is there any benefit to just reinstalling a fresh copy of Leopard vs using a cloning software (SuperDuper or Carbon Copy)? Here is why I ask:
I cant remember ever defragging the current drive ( if that possibility even exists in Leopard.
I dont remember running any system tool like utility.
I have basically kept computer on ( or on sleep) for the time Ive used it. It is the best computer i have ever had. It is VERY low maintainance.
So with that said..does cloning copy over every characteristic ( an fragmented drive..slowness {of which none really exists}..or the time to launch the OS when it is rebooted)?
With all of this said, I dont use this computer for much storage. I have a couple of MP3s on there which can be ported off of there with a USB flash drive..and a couple of documents. Everything else is pretty much expendable.
I dont know..something tells me that its just better to freshly install the OS.

OS X :: Reinstall Safari On 10.6?

Nov 1, 2009

i have snow leopard and had some issues with safari. I uninstalled it and now i can't find where to download it from. The link on the apple website is for either tiger of leopard. I downloaded the leopard one, but it will not install on my computer because it is 10.6.1 instead of 10.5.8 or later. I have looked around, but can't find where to download it.

Can Reinstall Safari 5.1.2 Over 5.1.3

AirMar 2, 2012

How To Reinstall Safari

Safari 5.1.3 is a disaster. Ever since I upgraded a week ago I have had nothing but heartache, with multiple issues cropping up, all of them seemingling unfixable. As it turns out I have a backup of my system that has my previous, non-heartache version of Safari 5.1.2. My question is simple: Now that I've 'upgraded' to Lion 10.7.3 and Safari 5.1.3, can I simply overwrite Safari 5.1.3 with the previous 5.1.2 version and get on with my life? Or will various changes throughout the system cause me more misery? Otherwise, I may just roll my whole system back to last week's backup and get on with my life.
